My work connects three questions: how we measure injury, how we evaluate medical AI, and how we understand recovery. I design studies, build analysis pipelines and evaluate medical-imaging models.

Learning to correct segmentation errors

Can a model learn to repair another model’s segmentation errors? I develop and evaluate correction models against re-segmentation and ensembling, testing both error recovery and the preservation of accurate predictions.

Measuring osteochondral injury

I develop methods to detect, localise and quantify osteochondral lesions of the talus on routine MRI. The project connects automated image analysis with lesion-level measurements for reproducible assessment of ankle injury.

Finding a stronger model and choosing the right model for a new setting are different problems. I designed and implemented a benchmark that separates those decisions and tests autonomous research systems across tasks, architectures and clinical sites.

How much local evidence does a hospital need to choose and calibrate chest X-ray AI? I analyse how the number of positive cases affects threshold stability, additional detections and false alerts when models enter a new clinical setting.

I study how mobilisation timing and starting function relate to recovery after hip or knee replacement. Using an open rehabilitation cohort, I examine functional gain alongside the time spent in inpatient rehabilitation.

I examine how exercise outcomes vary across the severity spectrum of hip osteoarthritis, including patients awaiting hip replacement. This review assesses how disease stage shapes the evidence used to guide exercise-based care.

Connecting endocrine change with joint disease

I contribute to a systematic review of premature or severe endogenous estrogen loss and osteoarthritis. The work distinguishes defined causes of hormone loss and specific joint outcomes to clarify the evidence linking endocrine change with joint disease.

My collaborative musculoskeletal research connects CT and MRI measurements with patient outcomes. Current work examines osteochondral lesions of the talus and the information subchondral structure adds beyond lesion size alone.
